On Baird - that's another good possibility. I just think she had to get some formal training somewhere.
Alan's reply letter reads very much like a pointed correction, yes. But I think he'd cotton on at some point if the reports kept coming with the wrong name - or if he ever got a report from the City about Thom. There's no real way to explain away Thom's name showing up on a letter from the City.
