1) It's really easy to read George as bisexual (and not very vested in gender--in the ftm!Alan AU, I figure George just shrugs and goes "okay", while Jon just doesn't understand it at all and Liam is not interested in Alan where he would have been Alanna).
2) He can put up with Alanna, so he can probably handle Thom, too?
I mean, I can't really see very many other characters putting up with Thom AND in a positive (i.e. not-Roger-like) way.
